This is a gorgeous bowl by Federal Glass in the Pioneer Amber pattern Circa: 1960's. This pattern features solid, rather thick, ruffled sides around an octagonal center section. The center section has intaglio fruit designs. Intaglio is the term for designs that are deeply recessed; some intaglio is cut or sandblasted, but the designs can be molded as well. Federal's Pioneer intaglio is molded and Federal mainly manufactured this pattern in crystal. This treasure would be beautiful to display as an accent in any room whether on a mantle, coffee or side table, foyer, or on a tray will with wrapped candies.
