This vintage, hand-coiled jar is a beautiful example of Ohkay Owingeh (San Juan) Pueblo pottery. It features a warm red base and a tan central band decorated with a geometric "Potsuwi'i Incised" pattern. This style was part of a 1930s revival that used 15th-century designs, like the diamonds and fine lines seen here.
The jar is in good condition with no cracks, large chips, or breaks. It shows some light, natural wear consistent with its age. This unique piece of folk art is perfect for collectors of Southwestern Native American pottery or as a cultural decorative accent. Please see the images for more details.
